As a young mother, Sarah started out in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, in 1982. With two hundred dollars borrowed from friends and family, she made candy and pastries in her own kitchen and sold them to local patrons. Just one year later, Sarah opened her first restaurant in the Harbor, selling pizza, specialty sandwiches, and desserts. The business did very well. Many patrons commented that they “appreciate good home-cooked food.”
