The winery was started in 1999 at the site of the South Casco blacksmith.Blacksmiths is one of Maine’s largest wineries producing grape and fruit wines and the first winery in Maine recognized with silver and bronze medals for a grape wine in International Wine Competitions. Blacksmiths is also the first winery in Maine to produce fortified wines, both port and blueberry. We make our fruit wines from Maine fruit including cider, blueberry, cranberry, elderberry and raspberry.
